Weddings at Lissenung
Are you dreaming of getting married on a secluded South Pacific island? Exchanging your marriage vows under swooping coconut palm trees, on a white sandy beach, with the waves gently rolling on to the beach in the background? Lissenung Island Resort is the perfect setting for your wedding dreams.
Located just 2 degrees south of the Equator, the small and very private island is covered in lush tropical plants and flowers. For the decoration of the tables and ceremony area we use local flowers and traditional bilas, made by the local ladies from the neighbouring island.
Your wedding banquet can be as simple or as excluisve as you wish. Local produce such as fresh lobster, mud crabs, fish, vegetables and fruits can be served either buffet-style or as a 3-course menu. You can chose one of our suggested menus or provide your own. Just one thing to be aware of is the fact that PNG is still a developing country and some of the ingredients used in our meals are imported. Sometimes, that doesn’t happen without hiccups, so there may be some limitations to your menu requests. The sooner you advise us of your wishes, the sooner we can start sourcing what is required.
A professional photographer is at hand to document every moment of your special day. Mike,
originally from Texas but now a Kavieng resident, has captured many brides and grooms and
he can offer a variety of options, be it prints, images burned on disc etc.
